Sooo I can't try out the Elite Specialization and I was talking about I wanted all Hero Power's unlocked within Elite to test it out in Trial Period lvl 80. As it is you can not enable any Elite Power until you choose your character and get out of the Trial for lvl 80.
I would suggest the PoF hero points, most of them are really easy to solo and you get 10 points for each. Many of the HoT hero points are more difficult. But as others have said you can often find trains in LFG. A lot of the EoD hero points you just fly there on your skyscale and commune.

using the 80 booster only unlocks all core skills and traits, you still have to go trough a lot of hero challenges to get enough hero points in order to fully unlock your PoF elite spec. TLDR: For the most easy, quick and cheap way to explore PoF zones and blaze trough story for mounts and hero challenges for unlocking elite specs i suggest
As others stated above, it's more like 2hrs to create a new character and farm the necessary hero points for an elite spec (including at least 30min to click through all the reward chests for levelling up with lvl60-boosts and Tomes of Knowledge).
Doesn't it require an ungodly amount of hero points to unlock everything for an elite spec, let alone a new profession? Exactly. Leveling up to lvl80 alone should yield enough HP to unlock the base profession but probably you'll still need a lot from world completition and maybe other sources.
Because an Assassin Elite spec for Thief would be an awful idea for Guild Wars 2. That's why I don't like it. The only reason to do it would be because a subset of players (inexplicably) seem to want it, even though Deadeye is already literally an Assassin. Take the good parts from GW1 and integrate them into GW2 where they fit.

Posted March 15, 2020. Definitely yes. With how hero points currently work, it is too easy to unlock the new stuff. I already have enough hero points to unlock the next elite spec on my engineer the day it comes online, which shouldn't be a thing imo.
Hey, when you've hit 80, you'll have enough points to unlock all your core stuff. Now that you're playing expansion content, you'll also be able to unlock all elite specs for all classes. Try and keep an eye out for HoT Hero Point (HP) trains. All of the PoF ones can be done solo and they all reward 10 points each.
I think this resulted in some amount of hero points in heart of thorns being nerfed so it was easier to get enough points to unlock your elite spec. That was the transition of hero points being worth 1 point to 10 in the expansions.
For example, the mushroom under Rata Sum is much easier to do after the event chain is cleared and before that it would be hard to do. But since HoT has 40 hero points and you only need 25 for an elite spec unlock, slipping the hardest 15 of them makes getting elite specs in HoT quite easy.
